We said ‘Hello,’ to India in 2006. And we’ve pushing forward ever since, finding ways to help more children. So, we’ve worked in the slums of Kolkata, showing children how to wash their hands, keep clean and grow strong. In Jharkhand, our early financial literacy program has helped children in this under-developed region understand the power of saving towards goals, empowering entire communities to manage resources better. When we discovered that children of migrant laborers across Rajasthan and Haryana were losing out on school, we took fun-filled, memorable lessons on early literacy and numeracy to them over radio and mobile phone.
Over this period, Chamki, Elmo, Grover and the other muppets of Galli Galli Sim Sim have become familiar household names as they lead the work we do in gender equality, education, nutrition and WASH.
