Working with the government to create and provide innovative material to Anganwadis.
Anganwadis are the first learning centers that children go to. It is critical to ensure that these centers are able to support the holistic development of the child. This is a double challenge. Parents are unaware of the importance of early childhood education and ambivalent about sending their children to Anganwadis. Meanwhile, the Anganwadi educators lack resources and training to make early education engaging and effective.
This program, with the support of Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), and in paid partership with the government of Uttarakhand (GoUK), aimed to support the Anganwadis in Uttarakhand in delivering high-quality early learning experiences.
The program set out to:
1.Improve learning outcomes, specifically on children’s pre-literacy skills
2.Build capacities of Anganwadi Workers, using multimedia and digital tools
3.Increase community involvement in early childhood development
Our play-based material such as story books, Akshar Shabd cards, shape cut-outs and a Story Pond fuelled engaging and child-centric learning in the classrooms.
