6-year old Aman lives in a crowded, low-resource community in Delhi. He goes to the local Anganwadi like other children from his neighborhood. His interest in words and numbers picked up when the colorful books and teaching aids from Sesame Workshop India reached his classroom. Jumping on a floor game, he learned to connect pictures to make a story of his own. He dreams of going to a ‘big school’ soon.

Building a strong foundation
The formative years lay the foundation for all future learning. So when we’re told about the acute learning deficits in India, we put our knowledge, creativity and muppets to work to create high-impact learning opportunities for every child. By entering homes, classrooms and communities, we hope to turn every childhood into a joyful space to learn and grow.
Engaging to educate
Song, dance and decades of rigorous research. Sesame’s proven content celebrates India’s diversity in lessons on literacy, numeracy, health and emotional well-being for children between the ages of 3 to 8. At Sesame, some of the finest educators in the world put together a curriculum that addresses children’s critical developmental needs with the sophisticated use of media and a large dose of fun.
Addressing the whole child
Numerous studies show that our work promotes learning with real, measurable results. We keep our eyes fixed on the whole child and see development as an interplay of cognitive, physical and socio-emotional growth.
