Position: Consultant- Content & Curriculum

Position: ERP Consultant

Strategic:
In conjunction with senior leadership, the executive will be responsible for setting a content strategy – how to reach which

Operational:

Position: Short term Consultant - Training Specialist

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, reaches over 180 million children across more than 150 countries with research-based, tested and proven educational interventions designed to help kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder. We are active in more than 150 countries, serving vulnerable children through a range of media, formal education, and social impact programs, each tailored to the communities we serve.
Sesame Workshop India was established in 2007 to meet the unique needs of vulnerable children in India. Sesame Workshop India’s programmes focus on low-resourced communities to bring children and their caregivers’ language and strategies that have proven impact on their health and wellbeing, social emotional skill development, literacy and numeracy. Programming channels include mass media, such as Galli Galli Sim Sim, the Indian production of Sesame Street, and community engagement activities. We are now expanding our ongoing early childhood development programs in underserved communities delivered in conjunction with critical programs such as education, WASH and Girls’ education in India. Sesame Workshop India’s programs will teach young children and empower them to be agents of change in their homes, schools, and communities through an engaging curriculum of storytelling, games, songs, and films.
Due to COVID-19, the lockdowns and subsequent closing of AWCs in the country, lakhs of children are without access to critical early learning content. While caregivers/parents especially in marginal/poorly connected districts are ill equipped to help their children learn, the AWWs have been facing challenges both in providing relevant learning materials for children and themselves being equipped to handle the shift to online tools of teaching and learning.
Program – Director
As Sesame Workshop India designs content for children and caregivers to continue learning at home, we are looking for a resource who has experience/expertise in developing training modules/guides, designing training sessions, managing training operations and delivering trainings both online and offline, to teachers/AWWs/implementation partners. Specifically, we are looking for a consultant who will:
A. Design Trainings & sessions:
a. Identify training needs, and delivery strategies (mechanism, platforms, process) as per project
b. Work closely with the content-curricula team to design relevant training modules
c. Work closely with the creative team so that the resources are developed as per need/audience
d. Identify and coordinate on design and delivery of appropriate training resource (printed
modules/videos/audio instructions/as need be)
e. Prepare detailed session plans, for each level of training
f. Create checklists/templates for offline and online training delivery
g. Put in place standard procedures for delivering trainings (online and offline) with
recommendations/best practices
h. Ideate, design learning materials as per need for demonstrating in training sessions.
i. Design training framework for Master trainers, AWWs, ICDS officials, Partner organizations
B. Manage training operations and delivery
a. In consultation with the project lead, define training delivery plan (cascade/direct)
b. Work closely with the project lead to put to identify training schedules (master trainers, batches,
batch wise scheduling, venue management)
c. Work closely with the program team to ensure that required training resources are available in
preparation of the training, in time
d. Conduct trainings and over-see delivery of all trainings
e. Identify and ensure training of other training resource person/s as per project needs
f. Put in place mechanisms for feedback on trainings done by other resource persons (both online and
offline modes)
g. Ensure all training related documentation (participant’s list, expense reports, etc) are in place and
submitted in time
C. Undertake Documentation and Reporting
a. Work closely with the M&E team to design relevant training feedback and response mechanisms
b. Ensure that the training feedback is collected, collated, analysed and is used back for improving
other training
c. Submit training reports as per program needs
A. Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Preference would be give to candidates from Lucknow or Jaipur only.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, Early childhood education, psychology or related
field, or additional 5-7 years’ work experience in the field/OR
3. 7-8 years of on-field experience of managing, leading, coordinating, delivering trainings at scale.
Especially to ICDS functionaries (AWWs, Supervisors/CDPOs), or school-teachers (primary
schools) or, field teams (NGOs)
4. Experience of planning and delivering trainings (especially with government stakeholders) is must
5. Experience of working in communities, interacting with AWWs for similar programs in desirable
6. Experience of conducting online trainings to a diverse audience is desirable (could be through
development of training videos/zoom session/or any other mechanism of reaching different audience
remotely)
7. Experience of working in any of the following states is preferred: Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha,
Chhattisgarh or Madhya Pradesh
8. Experience of working with children is highly valued.
