About the Position
Sesame Workshop seeks a qualified Chief of Party (COP) candidate to lead an anticipated five-year USAID-funded early education program in India. The COP will be focused on providing programmatic and technical leadership to ensure equitable access to foundational literacy and numeracy skills, especially for children with disabilities, in mainstream primary schools and preschools in India. The COP will be a creative and dynamic leader, overseeing all staff and program implementation to ensure that objectives are met on time and within budget.
The position is based in India (TBD) contingent on funding.
The Chief of Party will report to the Managing Director of Sesame Workshop India in close coordination with the VP of International Programs and the VP International Education.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic and technical leadership to the program; deploying innovative and adaptive program implementation that engages a wide range of stakeholders to enrich the early educational outcomes of children aged 3-8 and support activities to improve access to foundational literacy and numeracy learning opportunities and improve the inclusive education environment.
• Serve as the principal liaison with USAID, other donors and implementers, private sector, government, and civil society partners, program beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain effective partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations.
• Lead and manage a creative and diverse consortium.
• Ensure program activities are efficiently implemented on schedule and within budget; responsively adapting to changes and lessons learned throughout implementation
• Supervise, manage, and mentor program staff and work in close coordination with Sesame Workshop’s NY office.
• Oversee Sr. Inclusive Education Advisor
• Oversee program budgeting, financial management, and compliance.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of program activities as well as facilitate learning and improvement across activities and amongst key stakeholders
• Represent Sesame Workshop publicly and support its organizational development
• Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
• Higher education (Masters, or Doctorate degree) in Education, International Development, or a related field with at least 8 years of relevant experience including at least 3 years as a COP or senior manager of projects of similar scope and complexity.
• Experience working internationally – Experience in the education sector in India preferred.
• Successful track record of supervising, designing, managing, and implementing complex donor-funded technical assistance projects (with strong preference for past USAID-funded project management experience)
• Demonstrated track record of achieving results in early education interventions (i.e. improvements in accessibility, quality, research management, or inclusive education).
• Relationship builder with well-developed people skills and an interest in building and sustaining partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to track and manage budgets and plan both strategically and creatively to meet project objectives in compliance with USAID rules and regulations.
• Proven leadership qualities and excellent management skills
• Strong representational and organizational skills.
• A proven interest in social change and commitment to work that reaches the most vulnerable children.
• Professional fluency in English in both written and oral communication.
• Citizens of India or third-country nationals living and authorized to work in India strongly encouraged to apply.

• Must have the legal right to work in India
• Master’s degree required

Terms and benefits
This is a contractual position and appointment will be made on Contractual Services Agreement initially for one year with a possibility of extension. The position offers an attractive remuneration package based on qualification and experiences with other facilities according to the organization policy including festival bonus.

About the Position
Sesame Workshop seeks a qualified Senior Inclusive Education Advisor to support an anticipated five-year USAID-funded early education program in India. The Senior Inclusive Education Advisor will serve as a thought leader for inclusive education and the incorporation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in education programming. The Senior Inclusive Education Advisor will work as part of a team to provide technical assistance to ensure equitable access to foundational literacy and numeracy skills, especially for children with disabilities, and approaches to inclusion focusing on ensuring equity in mainstream primary schools and pre-schools in India. The Senior Inclusive Education Advisor will support all aspects of content development, teacher training, community outreach, inclusion, gender equity, and external representation.
The Senior Inclusive Education Advisor will report to the Chief of Party, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, and work in close collaboration with the Quality and Inclusion Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation.
*The position will be based in India (TBD) and is contingent on funding.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Chief of Party, Quality and Inclusion Manager, and the Content and Creative Department to build capacity related to inclusive education, education for children with disabilities, and implementation of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach
• Provide technical leadership to develop knowledge products, messages, and materials for field colleagues and the global education sector related to inclusion, disability, UDL, all with an eye towards DEIA for all children and youth in all phases of educational programming.
• Serve as a thought leader on relevant subject matter, which includes a broad technical understanding of disability and inclusive education and familiarity with UDL.
• Be present in the training and workshops of the project and provide technical advisory.
• Train project staff on gender and inclusion issues.
• Develop training and capacity building sessions for staff and partners.
• Develop curriculum using UDL principles.
• Be the gender and diversity focal point of Sesame Workshop India and represent Organization and the project to the gender, diversity and inclusion forums and to USAID.
• Perform other jobs as needed for organization as advised by the Chief of Party.
Qualifications and Experiences:
• An advanced degree (Masters) from an accredited university preferably in Education (Early Childhood Development, Inclusive Education, etc.) or Social Science with a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience developing and/or implementing UDL programming and curriculum.
• Deep understanding of disability education and the ability to develop knowledge and capacity building products related to disability and inclusion, disability education, UDL, and DEIA.
• Proven skills in curriculum design, development, and facilitation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of foundational learning, numeracy skills, and school readiness; and demonstrated management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills, with proven ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts.
• Teaching or educational program design experience highly desirable, background in inclusive education preferred.
• Strong representational and organizational skills.
• A proven interest in social change and commitment to work that reaches the most vulnerable children.
• Professional fluency in English in both written and oral communication.
